MAC - Samples and Loops Organization ?
MAC - Samples and Loops Organization ?
I switched to a MAC a while back and I am still getting used to the way some things are done... I typically use Live Packs or live instruments and/or recordings to make sets... Some years ago I purchased several (9) M-Audio Pro Sessions sound and Loop libraries and a couple by Sony as well... Since they're just sitting around taking up space I figured I'd install them. Which brings us to my question: any recommendations on where to put these? Where do you store your third party type sample libraries??
Re: MAC - Samples and Loops Organization ?
Im fairly new to MAC also... about 2 months. I put all mine in my Music Folder, I also have a folder in there called Ableton Projects and thats where I put all my projects (cant remember if that was by default on install or whether it was something I did afterwards). I think its irrelevant really but just for the sake of me knowing where everything is I put them all in there.
Re: MAC - Samples and Loops Organization ?
Thanks for the reply... I don't think it matters much either, as long as you know how to find them, but I figured I'd ask in case there were some best practice type scenarios I hadn't thought of.
Re: MAC - Samples and Loops Organization ?
Makes no difference so long as you understand how they are organised
Nothing to see here - move along!

Right on! Thanks. I guess I'll slap those puppies in there after I finish this clean install of Mavericks.
