USB cables have a tendency to clutter up your desktop quickly, and I like the angled cables that come (or at least that used to come) with the Launchpad. Now the Push cable has this straight plug with a big, bulky cylinder on it to make matters even worse. The purpose of this cylinder is apparently to reduce the amount of noise that comes from the computer, but my question is: is there anything with Push that makes it more susceptible/vulnerable to this noise than the Launchpad and other similar devices that don't come with a plug like this?

Can I swap the cable with a less intrusive one without worry?

I find that the placement of the USB port on all these devices can make or break your studio ergonomics. (the side placement on the Launchpads, for instance, is ridiculous (if you want two of them next to one another).

It's really just a precaution to filter out the high frequency noise like you said. Personally I use a different cable on it and it's fine (no ferrite core but a thick cable).

If you start to get any lockups or issues with performance then go back to the other cable.
