Push and Amazing Noises Dark Synth: good combo?

Hi,
I have asked this question in the main forum, but did not get any answer (yet).

I have been curious about additive synthesis lately. Two synths have attracted my attention, NI Razor and Amazing Noises Dark Synth (a M4L device). As I am also a Push enthusiast, it is important to me that these synths interface well with the controller. I can easily see how I could map Razor's parameters to Push (probably using tom-d's Ubermap). I am wondering about Dark Synth though. Can people who use Push and Dark Synth tell me how well Dark Synth is interfaced with Push?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

Moscom

i never worked on this, but i thing the way parameters are displayed on Push has something to do with the scripting names of the UI objects in the m4l patch.

Ok... that suggests that Dark Synth will interface very much like a VST. And as this synth seems to have a lot of parameters, it will hit the 128-parameter limit easily... Damn :)

I don't have this device but with m4l devices if the default mapping doesn't fits your taste, you can simply edit the device, go to "parameters" and edit their mapping order, name and so on...

Hi Valiumdupeuple,

Thanks! I know about this step, I was just curious whether Dark Synth behaves like a Live Device, or like a VST. Dark Synth seems to be complex with a lot of knobs, and it would be a blast if it were fully accessible on Push. Given that it very likely behaves like a VST, there is always the possibility to map it with ubermap, but I think that a less complex synth in terms of interface may fit the bill better.

Thanks again

You can map as many parameters as you want for m4l devices ( I've never tried to map more than 128 parameters, though).
