Controlling plug-in paramter in a rack with Push

This is my first post here, so please be patient with me if my issue might be too simple.
I couldn't find any infos in the FAQ or in the forum so far...
Here's my scenario:
I want to controle a certain number of parameters of a (non-ableton) soft-synth with Push.
So I use "configure" in live's plug-in window to map my let's say 8 parameters to the 8 Push encoders.
This works fine: Push shows the parameter values and if I change the plug-in's preset, Push automatically updates the values of the encoders conform to the new preset.
But now I would like to save this parameter-mapping, so that each time I open my synth, this mapping with push is right there. So I start building a rack with only my synth in it, I assign all parameters using the "configure" button and I assing the 8 parameters to the 8 macros in the rack.
Again I can control my parameters with the 8 push encoders and I can load the whole rack and my parameter mapping is still there.
BUT: when I change a preset in the synth within the rack (from the synth's GUI) nor the makro knobs neither the push encoder update their values (what they do in my scenario without the rack).
Now my question: how can I ensure that all encoder show the right values, when I change a synth's preset?
