Audio 'skipping' in live set

Hi guys.
Having a problem with Live 9 and was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem:
Myself and a friend of mine are working on a live set, at random points during the set the tracks seem to 'skip' or 'jump', the closest thing I can describe it to would be a CD skipping, like the audio drops out for a fraction of a second.
It is happening completely randomly and sometimes doesn't happen at all, but when it does it sounds terrible, were just very concerned that when we eventually take the live set to play out in a club that its going to end up making us look silly
Any ideas?
