Not understanding arrangement view

Posted: Mon May 30, 2005 4:12 pm
I am new to AL - I'm able to create sets using the session view well enough but I can't figure out the arrangement view - when I click to that view, I see nothing - my tracks all look blank even though there are clips in the session view?

you need to record something into the arrangmnt. view

pretend they are two things joined

improv arrangmnts. save. erase make more. save. go back later -join together

Or just drag your clips from session view into arrangement view and place them where you want them...

Yes this is a handy tip.

Understanding how both the Session view & Arrangement view interact with each other is essential to getting the most out of Live's phonomenal interface.

you do not even need to use session view, you can just lay everything down and line it up in arrangement view (if you are creating a studio mix). Otherwise, just hit the record button and start playing your clips. It's pretty boring to just line it up though, takes the fun out of it.
