Erase previous recordings when recording into arrange?

Hi,
Sometimes when I record a new element into the arrange window I erase something that I previously recorded. Does anyone know why this happens? Thx!

sounds like you might be recording your new element onto a track that already has something on it? maybe, you are not clicking your "return to arrangement" button after you record the new element?

use punch in and punch out buttons [right and left of the LOOP button] to isolate a part and only record in this section.
Or move the playstart header to a place where you haven't recorded yet [blank part]
