This little issue is driving me crazy and seriously complicating my live set-up.

It's the issue where a clip, in the absence of any parameters will not simply launch with the current parameters, but reverts to the last manual parameters. New clips similarly take on the last manual parameters.

Why this is bothering me:

1) I need a way to do a reset all parameters on the effects rack I have on my midi tracks (for live improvising), so when I go down a rabbit hole with effects, I can reset it with a push of a button.

2) I need a way to turn certain VSTs on and off to toggle between different instruments I have in an instrument chain.

I can achieve both of the above using dummy clips that have zeroing parameter data for all effects, and the appropriate on and off parameters for the VSTs. I also have appropriate Pgm Change information to change presets on the VSTs once I have turned the required ones on.

BUT, because of the above limitation (feature), the minute I record a new clip for looping, it reverts to the last manual setting, which is often nothing like what I need. Is there any way around this feature, or any other way I can achieve the 2 things above I need to do such that they remain in the required state.

I have asked this question before, but am wondering if there is something new out there with PUSH, M4L or just the latest version that makes this doable.

This is also an issue for me, and I still cannot see what the solution is.

I have workarounds for the 2 issues (not pretty) I mentioned above, but not the fundamental problem.

For the 'reset all' I have mapped a letter to each of my 8 tracks, same letter to volume level, and then each of the 8 effect controls I also have on each track. I then use BOMES Midi translator to send that key when a particular button is hit on my controller keyboard. An additional thing that I find really useful is to also send that letter key at the end of any risers that I have. I use 1,2 and 4 bar risers to play live into my sets. So I can really screw with the parameters, tweaking as much as I like and then tee up a 4 bar riser where at the end of the woosh or reverse cymbal etc, all parameters reset as I come back in after the drop.

For the patch selection, I use 3 midi tracks (alongside the 5 audio tracks). On each of these I have up to 4 VST instruments in a rack. I then map the on/off of these to buttons on touchable2 on the ipad, so manually decide which one I want to use. Then I have 2 clips on each midi track with a 1/16 follow on the first one. First contains a Pgrm change to 1 program before the one I want, and the 2nd clip selections the action program. I found this was necessary since a program change does not take effect if it has already been trigger before - i.e. if I had forgotten to switch on the right synth and hit prg change clip, hitting it again after turning on that synth does not effect the program change.

I'm happy to give more details to how I do the above if you want - it took a fair amount of buggering about to get to the point I'm at now and would happily help someone else avoid that pain.
