Daft question I know... Recording

I know that it's probably staring me in the face but I cant see it :)

I've recorded a jamming session into Arrangement which works really well.

But now in session view when I create a new clip and just want to record a new melody in that clip, it starts playing the arrangement when I press record?!

I can still record my melody but have to do it while my arrangement recording is playing which is kinda off putting.

Anyway to make it not play the arrangement when trying to record new clips in session?

Also, I know I read this somewhere in the manual but I cant find it now... I can set a new clip length but how can I set it to just continually record while I'm playing a melody without looping back?

Thanks and sorry for the stupidity :)

How are you recording? With Push?

Does this help?

Yes, recording with Push.

I can record into Arrangement with Push no problem.

It's just that afterwards, if I simply want to record a new clip within Session view, it start playback of the arrangement recording as soon as I hit the Record button on Push.

Yep, if I recall correctly, when I want to record a new clip in arrangement, I don't use Push, I trigger the record button in the session slot. You can do that with a mouse  or you can use STC.

There might be a way of doing that with Push (I am not near my Push now so I can't check it out).
