You lot are such a bunch of sado's sometimes! For gods sake..

Why do you give Sasha so much hassle? Because he's in the press and youre not?
If you lot are so good and cutting edge, where are you in the press and club/events scene? Im sure most of you have been using ableton for years, well done, congratulations.. You want a medal? Is Sasha really taking the jam out of your donuts? Sasha has always been an innovator yes, why do you think he's been in the top 5 dj's in the world for the last 10 years or so, and still is? Because he's one of the best at it, techinally and musically.
How do you know he only uses 2 channels in Live at a time? Because someone took a photo of his screen when he had just 2 channels up there? The Essential mix, he had about 6 things running at once on several occasions.. If you dont know the music, youre not going to know what he's doing are you? Ive seen him use it a few times, and i know what he does with it, he's constantly remixing tracks live, making new vibes and changing the sound of everything.
And for you information i heard he was really pissed off about the P.R thing, its not how he wanted to be billed or perceived.
Why do you lot give him so much shit when he's actually helping the scene grow and move forward.. Theres not many that are doing it, and making it work, if so please send me a list of what dj's in the top 100 dj's that use Live.
If you dont like what he does, fine, im sure most of you bang out obscure techno grooves that are so underground they only sell about 50 units..
I dont get why people knock people when they get recognised? He's helping you guys, a lot.. You should be grateful.
If you lot are so good and cutting edge, send me your mixes, would love to hear them and compare..Its so sad to read how you "underground geeks" are trying to make out Ableton's all yours all the time..

Sad little men..

:D

Some people will always want to see superstar DJs and pay big to do so. Others will always question their value and stay away. So long as Sasha pays his taxes like the rest of us and gives planty of cash to charity I don't really give a damn. There are bigger fish to fry guys...

Yeah. The problem is not so much sasha himself. Or the level of sucking he does or doesn't do.
The problem is: It's always sasha.
Oh god how do i get sick about always reading that name everywhere.

You hear about him a lot because he's one of the biggest dj's in the world, and he's using "Live" he's sponsored by M-Audio and Ableton, and this is a "Live forum" Hello????

We'd probably hear your name too if youve been djing for 15 years, been on numerous front covers, sold thousands of albums and still pack out venues, and is now using a new method of djing "professionally" Not your mum & dads basements!

Does that mean we're obligated to like him?

You sound like those guys on drum forums who kick up a fuss any time someone says they don't like Rush... "What do you mean, you're a drummer, you're obligated to love Neil Peart, you must be jealous." As if there's some kind of contract you sign requiring you to love certain artists, just because they play the same instrument as you...

Disclaimer: I don't mind Sasha at all, I rather enjoyed Involver. His militant fanbase however sometimes gets on my (and other people's) nerves.

I like PLENTY of well-known DJs. Aphrodite, Roni Size, Shadow, Krafty Kuts, Tipper, Si Begg, Rene Pilgrim, James Zabiella (sp) .... They play good music.

Shasha, on the other hand bores me and many other people. Whether or not he play with Ableton, Vinyl or CD. STILL BORING.

Why does he mean so much to you? Is it because he is on some list that someone with bad taste put together? You seem to be hung up on this list ShaSha is in. Do you actually think that if it is print, we must all subscribe to it?

You have a right to like him the same as we have a right to NOT like his music. We don't have anything personally against him, because we just don't care enough to give a crap either way.

To each their own.

You lot are ALWAYS having a dig "we were the first ones using Live not him!"
Change the record... Excuse the pun... If you dont like him, dont put a post up.. its pretty simple..

You say boring..

the thing about having a genuine deep interest in making music, and you've spent years enjoying all sorts of genres, is that you respect everything that has ever been recorded. no matter how cheap, commercial or mercenary.

you'll listen to it and like it or decide it might be worthless crap. There is nothing more crass than becoming a vocal critic.

the flaming bitches on the forum who have so much time to scream about sasha are obviously just sad fuckwits with about as much interest in music as a gimp who has just bought Live and wants to make "phat beats".

that said, the Ableton forum is not about hardcore music production. It is for DJ fanboys who are playing their air guitars. or is that air decks?
