replicating follow actions with m4l

I've been working on this a few years ago, i can't remember how satisfying it was. I think S4racen made this in his modular series as well.
What would really have my interest is a patch to replicate follow actions within a clip. I mean, copy / paste clips on after the other, in the same clip, and then jump inside the clip accordingly to your settings. Main reason would be sparing session's space and slots.
