LIVE will not run on internal apple audio with OS 10.9.2/

Im a long term LIVE user, through many systems and computers.
Now running Mavericks 10.9.2 on a 2.8 Ghz intel core i7 16gb ram retina powerbook.

I cannot run LIVE without my external interface, fireface400.
Though in all previous OS I could do this.

I have tried the following LIVE versions (9.0.6 and 9.1.2 and 8.2.6) and none will boot up without the interface.

Any thoughts? I do enjoy using LIVE on the fly, on a plane, on a bus, in the wild, and do not always carry an interface.

Anyone have this problem?

Not a MAC user but privy to troubleshooting.

Have you tried to set the audio output in Ableton to use your inbuilt interface BEFORE you disconnect your audio interface? May be an issue with Ableton trying to load an audio config that doesn't exist and having no where to turn. Just an idea.
