So, I'm on a 15 inch 2011 quad core i7 MacBook Pro. It's still running strong and I expect to keep up for at least a few more years. Anyway, I was wondering if it is officially safe to upgrade to Mavericks yet. ? Any satisfied users out there?
I use all the usual stuff: Live 9, Maschine, Komplete, And a bunch of random VSTs like Sugarbytes stuff, Fabfilter, Camelphat etc.
Whadya think?

Been using it daily for my studio machine since the day it came out, not an issue here.

It's the random VSTs that might cause the issue.
I have the same issue, so I'm building a Mavericks partition for test purposes and to see what I can do without. Ableton were happy to provide an extra unlock code for me.

No problem with live and mavericks. Despite the fact that mavericks sucks.

Ya I figured some of my VSTs would be broken but I wouldn't mind thinning it out a bit anyway.
I think I'm going to do it tonite when I get home.
Thanks for the replies.

It doesn't support expresscard slots, including one's hosted in external thunderbolt adapters. You can do a hack to get it to work but I don't like the sound of that.

a quick squizz around the interwebs suggests that most of those problems were fixed by 10.9.2, and/or driver updates from the manufacturers...

How so? Been nervous to update to mavericks since initially people were reporting it slower than mountain lion. I essentially have no good reason to update yet (wouldve stayed on snow leopard except I got a new lappy) but a performance decrease is def not something I want to deal with. Ive well learned my lesson to stay as far away from the bleeding edge as possible!

Nothing dead serious, but annoying details.
Always asking for updates.
Wanting to reopen windows when shutting down.
Power button doesn't ask for shutting down any more.
Probably things that you can fix, but i've been lazy.

Crazy overheating with my spec'ed out macbook pro. 2 weeks old, all I've done is install my daws and plugins. I've had a couple of audio dropouts and one crash. Ableton index crashing.
It gets to 80degrees celsius with 18% cpu. It's all stock and rme fireface ucx is doing all the audio processing. my 5 year old imac on 10.5.8 is smoother (but slower)
