Clip Automations

Hey guyz,
I've a question for you :D

Say that I've recorded an automation to my Midi or Audio clip on the session view and now I want to move that automation in the session:
So I drag/drop the clip in the session and all work well.

Now if I want to extend my loop I simply drag the loop as usual but in this case the automation doesen't follow the loop (like the Modulations in Live 8).

So my question is simple:
is there any way to make the automation follow the loop?

I already know the Lock Envelopes button but it's not that case.

I find working like that really annoying as I've a push and I like to record clip automation, but then arrange the song is a pain.

Thanks,
Mauro.

Are you saying that if you increase the loop length from 2 to 4 bars you also want the clip automation to expand to 4 bars? Is this for Midi or Audio clips? If it's a midi clip, first increase your loop length to the new desired value (for example from 2 bars to 4 bars), then switch to clip automation and select the first two bars of automation. You can then drag the right hand Midi Stretch Marker (which looks just like the Audio Warp marker) and it will expand the automation wherever you like without changing any of the notes. It only works on a single piece of automation at a time.

For audio it doesn't work quite as well since dragging the warp marker drags the audio along with it. The only thing I can think of there is to make a copy of the clip and then stretch the automation and copy/paste it back on to the original clip.

I hope this helps, I wasn't 100% sure what it was you were trying to do.

in session view, click the clip with the automation, then click dupllicate loop however many bars you want, then drag clip into arrngment, this will have the repeating automation for as many bars as you duplicated (make sure envlope is linked in clip)

Thanks mate, that's what I do now, but say I have 3 clip with different automations?

For me it's not so intuitive, it was better with live 8 that you have only clip modulations in the session and they stay with the clip!

Maybe it's only a bug for mine workflow...

Thanks anyway for the help :D

Mmmmhmm what? Then you do what I said on the 3 clips and drag each into the arrangment......
