Phaser and flanger sucks...?

I have used Abletons flanger/phaser quite a lot, but I still really have difficulties getting a phat and good sound from them.
I dont have a Pioneer DJM here so I cannot compare side by side with individual instruments, but my impression is that DJM flanger is much better. Maybe I just have wrong settings...? Any tips for good settings would be appreciated, I would really like to get a DJM-flanger sound out of Abletons flanger
And the phaser... well I dont have that much experience of phasers but the one in Sylenth sounds very good. Abletons phaser sounds very thin compared to it. or maybe it is again about the settings...?
I am still using Live8 by the way...

TAL Flanger free and one of the best sounding I normally don't use free plugins as I like everything to be Soundtoys and Cytomic quality.

My fave Phaser is Soundtoys Phasemistress and the one that's in u-he DIVA.

Are you sure about this? They said nothing about that they would have been improved. Only that EQ and compressor are new.

I'm pretty sure he was pulling your leg, I at least hear no difference.

Audio Damage Liquid is a very good sounding flanger IMO, it's a through zero flanger that I think I is so much cooler sounding than a normal flanger.

While you're there check out their Phase Two plugin for a phaser.

I find myself using D16's Fazortan as well.

I agree that MetaFlanger and Enigma are great and so is Audio Damages product.
But D16's Fazortann is also awesome!

Yeah Fazortan might be my favorite, it does some really cool things to the stereo field, makes the sound phase but doesn't really sound like an "applied effect". It's hard to describe but it's very integrated into the sound.

+1 On Fazortan and really the whole FX Bundle from D16, they all sound among the best for the devices they are representing.
The thing with Flangers and Phasers is usually what Airyk eluded to: They very often sound like an addition to a sound, not like a mangling of the input.
Fazortan though manges to always do something unique with the input instead of just adding another sound to it.

Yeah, I got in on the Group buy a few years back I think for the Silverline collection. Ended up getting the whole lot for the price of one. I agree that all of those plugins are top notch FX.
