i can't find a way except :

for each chain, create an audio track, monitor to in, set its input as the drum rack's chain, mute the chain in the drum rack.

it takes AGES. Am i missing something obvious ?

https://www.ableton.com/en/manual/instr ... ect-racks/ section 18.6 (bullet points 3 & 4) I believe will help you configure this.

I'm on my work computer, not at home, but I believe you select the drum rack, click I/O, click 'R' under S/R and create a return rack (or multiples?) then you can configure the sends and levels of the individual sends

Yes, I was thinking (and experimenting) along the same line.
It's a pity, you can't choose another track or external out as the output of a drum rack chain directly, but the rack's return chains can be a) empty, b) be sent to the set's returns instead of the rack output, c) you can set the rack's output to "sends only". Restriction: a drum rack can only have six internal return chains.

How?!

And you should also not forget that the drum rack sends are always pre-(channel)fader. This means the channel fader doesn't turn down the volume of the whole drum rack track anymore (the sends still pass through) and the mute button doesn't work anymore either!

Straightforward: on the rack track audio to: sends only

I remember your thread about the pre-fader rack returns and get your problem.

In this case it becomes less relevant, when the rack's sends only. You're mixing it with the chain send levels and return faders. - Figure these six returns less as classic effect returns but more like busses.

Yeah, I see it now. :-)

this is inelegant at best. most every sampler out there lets you freely route audio to wherever you want. for something that is supposed to look mpc-ish, it definitely lacks a few core functions.
