OMGOMGOMG i'm so excited !
Totally didn't expect this, but always hoped for it and now out of the blue they have just fucking finally produced it:
The Launch Control XL
Why am i so excited ?
Because i always hated the fact the APC40 had only a 5x8 grid but got the better controllers (knobs, faders etc) in comparison with the Launchpad whereas i love the Launchpad but totally missed the controls of the APC40.
With the Launch Control XL and the Launchpad combined, this is gonna beat the shit out of the APC40 !
Yeah !

Ok.Wait.Sorry.
The rotaries are not endless encoders.APC40 wins.
The buttons beneath the faders have the same shift fest goin on like the normal Launch Control and the APC Mini.APC40 wins.
Gawd i "really don't like" shift buttons.
Actually everything could be perfect if only there was either a APC40 with 8x8 grid or a Launchpad controller with faders, 3 dedicated buttons and 3 ENDLESS rotaries for each track.Something like the Korg Nanokontrol2, just better (the only thing the NK needs added is 2 more rotaries per channel and make them endless, thankyou).
Sorry for my unusual early excitement.

Looks cool anyway. I wonder how "customizable" it is. What i would love is customize what it does in control surface mode, not in a classic midi user mode...

I bought two of these to augment my other controllers because there is such a serious lack of knobs on most controllers today. it's not quite 100% yet and there's been some issues with the newest firmware and editor that are still unresolved, but overall they are really handy. I have no idea what the state of the premade mappings and scripts are, I only use it by assigning the mappings manually in live. 4 banks of 16 push button encoders with multi color LEDS underneath. Encoders can be configured to have a second rotary function when the button is pushed, which is really nice.

This was really needed, livid instruments announced the DS1 at namm, I was really looking for it but if this enw novation xl has the same price as a alunchpad 150 i ouwld get it.
I will use it along push, i hate controlling volume with the encoders.

Looks decent but the last thing I need is ANOTHER MIDI controller.
I agree, the APC Mini looks way better.

God, I wish the Livid DS1 was made with the touchstrips on Base and the encoders on Code.
I wanna have this.
