drumrack - external instruments

hi guys,
while building a drumrack with external instruments recieving audio from
a multichannel drummachine (microtonic) and sending midi to the different drumpads on microtonic, a problem came up.
the audio signal coming from the multichannel outs (and through the external instrument) is delayed by the audio buffer latency, while the signal from the master out of the microtonic is not.
how can one overcome the audio buffer delay while using the external instrument with multichannel vsts (which are obviously no external instruments)?
i would be very happy, if someone with light about this can shed some on that issue..!
