Hello:

The Live 9 browser has a "User Library" under "Places" whereas if I create and save a device preset it is saved there. I have noticed that my created and saved device presets in Live 8 are not in the same locations as there is a "Live 8 Library" under "Places" as well.

I can drag a device preset (Live makes a copy) created in Live 8 from its current folder to the Live 9 "User Library" under "Places" but where is this Live 9 Library location? Also, is there a way to simply utilize the library location already set up in Live 8? Or has Live 9 included a reworking of how files are located and its a matter of manually migrating all device/Instrument racks/etc. presets over to the Live 9 library location?

If anyone know can provide a link to a post (I tried a search of few related terms) providing any insight to this matter it would be appreciated.

Thanks! Yes I see things have become a bit more complicated.

Personally I just want one library - not to have to deal with presets etc being in several places, the Live 8 library is a stupid kludge. What happens when Live 10 comes out are we going to have to have a Live 8 and Live 9 library - why not just one unified library?

Big time. 3rd party vendors can't program those easy Live pack installs. Now you have to drag and drop those asg or whatever files they are.

I moved my library to a different drive on one system and now it gives me some stupid message if I want to install a pack.

I recall a previous upgrade, may have been Live 7 to Live 8, whereas it was a similar situation although the change in file paths, for user presets and program files, was addressed during the upgrade installation.
