Using External Audio Effects in Ableton

I simply ran output 3 of my Saffire into the Moog delay pedal and output the pedal to input 3 of the Saffire.
I then used the "External Audio Effect" under Audio Effects section and dragged it on the audio track as if it was a VST and selected input 3 and output 3.
That's all there was to it to make it a lot like a VST to use your old guitar pedals, etc. with Ableton.
