logic <-> ableton rewire issue (disk overload)

hej everybody,
I have a problem with ableton as a rewire slave with logic:
ableton is filled with 4 instruments (all sampler-based, from the legacy EIC2). the logic-project is mixed with audiounit-instruments and real recordings. the problem is that ableton is not able to playback without hiccups. the disk overload sign on the upper right side is constantly blinking while logic's harddisk metering isn't showing anything (I mean there is no single spike!). does anybody know a workaround or a solution??
my setup: mbp 2,5ghz i5, 4gb ram, 120gb ssd samsung 840 evo, live 9.1.4 32bit,
