CPU usage went 100% when loaded samples into live 2.0.1 at win XP.

What could cause the problem?
The loops kept playing and the program answered to my midicontrols even though live was "not responding". No effects were used at the time, so the cpu usage was quite low before this incident.

I've heard that sometimes xp could crash if you open a directory with in lots of .avi or other media files, if it is same on waves...


my pc included:
winxp, P4 2,4 , 2x 512 ddr, abit be7, terratec ews88mt (asio) with midiman radium keyb

I would like to get mor details about the described behaviour.

The most important question: Does it happend once or always so that you can reproduce it?

"The loops kept playing" means audio was normal during the load of the samples?
How many loaded samples are involved?
How long was the 100% CPU usage period and what happended after that.

It happens always when there's more than 1.5-2.0GB or 1000-1500 samples on the same folder. Live jammed when tryied to open the sample-folder in Live. Not when I was "loading" samples. Sorry for my lousy grammar...

Audio was normal but I could'nt use the program. In fact I left the machine on for a night (about 10hrs) and the situation was same after that so I had to kill live from task manager and reboot. (lost my work...:( )

Live was playing 20-30 quite small samples at the time (about 1-10MB each).
