Am I the only one who has this problem with drum racks

For some reason, whenever I drop samples from my browser into a drum rack, I feel like the sound will be "thinned" out and not played correctly.
For example, I'll take a kick that has a lot of punch that I find in my browser and drag it into an empty drum rack pad. But when you play it, it sounds thinner with a lot less punch than it did when I previewed it in my browser. However, I'll drop it into a new track and the simpler plays the sample correctly and sounds a lot more like it does in the preview for the browser. Does anyone ever have this problem or have any possible solutions? It's driving me crazy
