I'm in the market for a new pair of monitors and I'm curious to know what others recommend. I've been using M-Audio BX5a speakers for years, happily, until one of them bit the dust recently. I suspect there are better options out there, and I could spend between $500 - $700 right now.

I've been told that the NHT M-00s are worth while. Has anyone here used those?

They'll be used for music production but also simply for listening purposes too, if that makes a difference.

i went from a pair of BX8a to a set of Adam F5. it's amazing how much more crisp everything is...

after it was all said and done, i think the BX8a monitors are more suited as bad ass speakers than reference monitors. they're too bassy to be true, but they sound great listening to a play list... or with a DJ.

JBL LSR305

Read the reviews on the net. Everything said about them is true, and you'll save some money.

Thanks for the replies. I looked into the suggestions and looks like I'm gonna go for those JBLs.

One final question:
What would be the difference between the JBL 305s and 308s? Obviously one is a 5" and the other 8", but how significant is that difference? Would it be worth the difference in price (about $100)?
