Hi ladies and gentlemen,

the title say all. Which filter do you use?

No matter if Live natives, M4L or VST devices ...
No matter which kind of filters - eq, comb, res or whatever.

Thank you ladies and gentlemen

many

autofilter for basic filtering needs
filtershaper 3 for moving, rhythmic stuff and just more advanced stuff
WOW2 for distorted and vowel

theres a couple others but i rarely touch them anymore, filterscape (another good one for moving and crazy stuff) etch (got it one of those cheapass sales but i just dont find many uses for it with what i have) mwobbler and quadfrohmage. Narrowing it down to those 3 is generally all i need

A few filters in the arsenal.

Autofilter, Bifilter https://tone2.com/html/bifilter2%20vst% ... lugin.html. Fabfilter and Anteres Filter are good too.

EQ8 is also awesome for filter - if you can tame it.

They've all got their own character, so its fun to use them in different situations.

There's also the M4L XVAnalog filter http://www.xmonsta.com/product/xv-analogue-filter/, which was developed for personal use, but we shared it so it's free :)

Sometimes its fun to filter the really low pitches of a square wave, bounce it and "slice to new midi track", selecting transient. Make weird filter rhythms with the drum pads 8)

I'm really not a filter expert but I have filtershaper. I like it. I use it more in simple ways though as if you get too complex it doesn't really necessarily sound good in a song.

EQ8 usually if I'm in Ableton, it just works a lot easier for what I try and do most of the time. Plus it's just so configurable, very easy to set up exactly what you need. Especially since Live 9!

I heard that the VOLVO filter is great. It's a bit pricey though. Gotta save my pennies.

if you agree with no more plays then you should keep the party off the street.

I put Vengeance Philta CM on every track by default. I start with a 48db/octave low-cut rolloff at 50 Hz and then adjust from there to keep each track within its part of the sound profile.

I love how intuitive this filter is to use! If I didn't have pay so much extra for their proprietary dongle, I would have bought the commercial version of this VST a long time ago. /sigh
