The APC Mini is great, except you can't switch banks, like the Launchpad, the APC40's or the APC Key 25. It only adjusts the matrix by track/scene, which is absolutely ridiculous.

I hope someone from Akai or Ableton will read this ASAP and fix it immediately - I really need this, since it affects all my 8x8 sets....

You'll need Ableton not AKAI as Ableton writes the scripts

Yeah, I know; I'm just screaming as loud as I can. Whoever programmed the script is has never performed with live using banks in sets. The Mini, after all, is a session mode device, and needs functionality similar to Push and Launchpad, not a computer keyboard (where the arrows can perform the current function - but in session mode, you select clips on the matrix, not by navigating within the set.

The Mini is great, otherwise. So near, and yet so far......

Nor can you switch left and right between devices on a track. Been trying to map/hack the two unmarked scene launch buttons to send keystroke messages when the shift key is held. no luck so far. probably going to return for the Launch Control XL

The Bank issue for both the APC Mini and the APC Key 25 make them practically unusable for the reasons I purchased them. The documentation describes the way they SHOULD work on the Live website, but describes the way they actually working the current Live documentation.

Whoever was responsible for the current situation should be fired, and replaced with someone who has actually used Push at least once....

This is really, REALLY frustrating to me. I had all my Push sessions organized by banks, but I don't want to bring Push along to my gigs, since I play guitar live and use sessions for backup clips, organized by key, time signature, etc.

WTF? Who plays by moving the matrix incrementally up and down by scene/track? WTF are the banks FOR? Sheer idiocy....

Why not just sell the Mini and buy a used Launchpad+Korg Nanokontrol ?

Quadrupled functionality and less hassle.

The whole point of the APC Mini was to have it all in one unit. (I have a nanokontrol and a Launchpad, BTW). But this APC Mini solution is much better for me - if only it did banks like the Launchpad.

But if I had known about the banks, I wouldn't have purchased the Mini. As it is, I can't sell it for anything near what I paid for it (which wasn't that much, actually). There are many alternatives, of course. I just really want this one to work....

Bank movement and Session Overview still don't work for the APC Mini or the APC Key 25 in Version 9.1.6.

I can't believe that Akai and Ableton still think this is the way these devices are supposed to work. At the very least, they should give us a choice....

I couldn't agree more. I just got MPK249 expecting the fader section to work like APC40 but only first 8 tracks work. Huge disappointment.

They already have a ton of my emails, and reviews on Amazon, Music Radar.
And also emails to Akai as well.

Does holding shift and pressing an arrow move the "red box" (or whatever color mini is) 8 spaces up/down/left/right? That's how it worked on the original APC40.

I haven't used Push so I'm not sure exactly what type of movement/selection you're looking to do.

No. That's the point. It is called "Session Overview", and it was not implemented in either the APC Key 25 or the APC Mini. Hard to believe in a session oriented device, but check the documentation.

The idiot responsible for this lack of functionality should be fired.
