...live 5 pricing...

Hi there,

I do think that the upgrade pricing for users who
bought version 4 isn't really fare... 119 Euros !

There's only a 50 euros difference from having ANY
former release... (that you can find for nothing on ebay...)

What do you think ??

Cheers,
b.

imagine someone who bought Live1 (don't know what the price was then), then the upgrade from 1 to 2, then from 2 to 3, from 3 to 4, and now from 4 to 5. i guess he'll have spent more than someone who bought 4 and then the upgrade to 5. i wouldn't be surprised if he had eventually paid twice this amount.
i think everybody feels like he is entitled to a discount because of this an that. but ableton can't make everybody happy.
they got to find a solution (preferably not too complicated), and most of all, they have to make money.

i think everybody here will agree that they deserve their money. just stop thinking for yourself.
GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY

Do we really need to have this conversation again? Do a search and you will find tons of threads on this topic when Live 4 came out. It's not gonna change so it shouldn't matter what anyone thinks. I would pay twice as much for Live if I had to. The Abletons have changed the way music is written for a lot of people. They deserve to enjoy the fruits of their labor. 8)

pricing is fair. I agree.

I moaned last time because they upgrade price to 4 was exactly the same for version 1 2 and 3 users. But then I realised I was a moaning twat and had spent far to much of my concious uptime milling around forums and reading threads concerning the new feature of Live that quimmagnet 365 wanted inserted into his rectum , instead of writing music. And I would only spend my money on beer and bears. anyway. give them all your monkey money  hahahahahahahah PIMS!!!

Completely fair, especially considering the number of upgrades to the app.

No, it's not fair. I'm in Germany and have to pay 119€, which are, at the moment, 145 US$.
