Replacement for Doepfer Pocket Dial... Arturia Beatstep?

I was wondering what if there is a modern successor to this device:

Arturia Beatstep (USB-powered and/or AC adapter, too!) could work, yes?

Basically... All I'm asking is can I switch between banks like the "Pocket Dial", or is this impossible with the Beatstep?

i replaced mine with a novation launch control. 8 user banks BUT i mess endless encoders. I made the switch before the beatstep was released. I do not miss carrying around that heavy thing tho...

Yep, exactly. I want those endless encoders and unsure if alternating banks is possible with the Beatstep. Good to know about your replacement, though. Thanks!

I only heard about the Doepfer Pocket Dial, but what I heard was that the encoders were very high quality.

As someone who has gotten quite frustrated with the encoders on his Maschine MK1 (the Midi signal is jumping all over the place on some of them and they feel generaly squishy), what is the current favorite for precices and smooth encoders that are built like a tank?!
Best would be if they came with a screen!

(Pushs are awesome, but I would prefere if they didn't come with a 500€ controller that weighs 3 Kilos)

No screen, but are the encoders good?

And does it come with Midi editor software?!

@Tom: i don't have it, neither used.
4 banks with 16 endless encoders is what all i know actually.

I own two Pocket Dials, & I am considering selling them. PM me if you're interested. 8)

Mine are the later silver models, like this one:

The Midi Fighter is an excellent replacement for the Pocket Dial (in theory at least, I haven't compared one to my Pocket Dials) Check their website for lots of info & videos.

Another is Livid Code

Faderfox stuff is the bomb, does what it says well and lasts years.

I sold a Beatstep 99% due to the crappy knob implementation which means that without some kind of M4L workround there's no way to do a simple sweep from 0-127 in one turn of the wrist in your own timing. The last I checked it was either keep turning and turning until it got to 127 or whip it around and rely on the so-called acceleration. If you wanted to do a smooth sweep in one turn of the wrist across a few bars then forget it - and Arturia's support reply amounted to 'that's just how it is, maybe sometime in the future'. Sorry, but that's BS and if the knobs are what you want I wouldn't be buying a Beatstep.

The faderfox does look nice, but it doesn't have any kind of visual feedback, right?!
Also, it would have been better if they'd made it 8x4 (instead of 6x4) encoders, that way my dream 8x8 encoders controller could have been implemented with two of those.
