As the title says :)

Looks promising, fun and the Live export sounds very appealing.

Anyone getting one?

I'm interested in the sampler version. But I'm with "dudewithlongassname" on this, I want to try it out in person before I consider it.

What would be the deal breaker for you guys?

I'm hoping it will have the ability to sample while playing back; Ext source as well as resampling.

I wanna get the synth version of the new electribe. but I am just waiting till i can get it as a b-stock (hopefully before xmas )

Gamebreaker would be if their would be too much and not well integrated submenues.

How would you guys plan on using either of these devices within your Live workflow?

I've seen people demo it by creating entire tracks within the unit but that does not appeal to me.

For me it will be mainly for live use, though I imagine I'll sketch out simple ideas to work on more in Live too. Even being able to export a single pattern as a Live set is a real time saver.

For me it is just for my couchsurfing evenings (or in the afterhour :) ). If it wouldnt have the exportfunctionality, i wouldnt buy this piece. I think, thats my most important gamebreaker, cause Iam a lazy person.

I'm still trying to figure out what exactly is the difference between the two units because at the moment, they are the same price, look identical but one is labelled groove box and one is labelled sampler - yet they look the same?

No different from the EMX and ESX though.

Daniel_S,

The Sampler version does not have the PCM waveforms (including drums), only VA.

The Sampler has just one multimode filter instead of a selection of modeled filters.

It appears that the choice of FX types may be more limited.

All of this is based on the limited specs that Korg have published so far.

The more i read about the box, the more i dont want it. 270 seconds sample memory in 2014 ? Thats just dumb, i cant run long ambient tracks in the background, this alone kills it.

With longer samples, you could set up a track and add with the sampler functionality, but without that feature, you cant really use it without other gear.

You cant really dig deep into the synthesis engine either - the older electribes look way more professional than this piece of plastic.

I think I read that you can expand the storage with SD cards easily.

I wish this page had a ton of image posts so I could immerse myself in the aesthetic, and then ask myself if that's what I'm into.
