Ableton Forum

I went to get my free upgrade and when i put in my Live 1.5 serial # I get this message:

" Serial number is not valid.
Serial number must have following format.
XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
Where X can be numbers from 0..9 and letters A..F."

I know my serial is right, I just registered it.


What do I do?

Also, when I submitted the above post, it said my user name was already taken!???! I just created it in the forum register section.

What's up?

Disregard the post about the username problem, I thought I was automatically logged in after I registered it.

ignore me of you're aware of this, but in authorising live, there are serial numbers and challenge/response numbers. make sure your using the appropriate one.

I did follow the directions Bernd posted. I still get the same message.

Funny, on a whim i cleared my IE's "temporary internet files" and it worked like charm.

I've tried everything but keep getting the same error "Serial Number has already been used for upgrading".

Guess I'll just have to wait until they get back in the office on Jan 2nd.
