Re:dream - that's cool. What can I do to repay you?

Tom, you've proclaimed yourself a negative nancy. I prefer debbie downer. Not everyone uses traktor. The dj shouldn't be about showing off or keeping themselves interested. There's plenty of simple math to get the point.

Will do. It is a completely unlabeled and unsorted mishmash. Want to sort through it a bit. Will upload to dropbox and share the link here
Ha, that does sound intriguing 8)

I hope the vinyl is still in good shape? White labels are usually made of lesser quality stuff.

It's already ripped. I got it in MP3 and FLAC. Variable quality. Haven't even imported it to Itunes yet. Will get to it after the Christmas holidays.

Right, I wasn't sure you refered to that. A little difficult without a lead in. Could have been so many other cultural references that I wasn't aware of.

To make it clear though. I would rather proclaim myself a realist or maybe a disappointed optimist.
But I know others here see that differently, so I rather get in front of it and save them the work of calling me what they think of me and my writings.

sure, no contention

cool 8)

I'm curious if it will be a blast from the past for me, or something I totaly missed at the time.

Where did the records originate? In SA?! 8O

Mostly London, if my friend is to be believed. She's an odd girl. But the music is interesting.

That might be interesting. Techno wasn't nearly as global back then as it is now. So it could well be that this is some totaly unknown stuff to me.
Maybe not just the records themselves, but already the style 8O

I'm intrigued 8)

meh, that kinda stuff I can do without.
Had the displeasure once to hear a Berghain set from this guy. Not so long ago actually.
3h of that utterly boring shit.
Seems like he didn't change up much since the beginning.
Cari Lekebusch - Straffbas, 1997

Well, if you consider this just weird or high art is a matter of taste. But the horrid production quality makes my point, rather than counter it.
Jeff Mills - Division De Lignes, 1997

I'm not sure why you think that this is somehow special. absolute standard fare. Well, for a minute there I thought: Uh, what's that creeping up from the background there? Turned out it was just the vinyl crackles
boring

Look, all of this I like better than the cheese that's happening in the mainstream of Techno right now, but it was precicely as I remembered it. Hard, fast, mostly boring.
It fit the atmosphere at the time - and I have fond memories of it. But I don't consider this good musicaly, just as I don't consider Punk good in that sense. (And I had some fun at those parties too)

Well, you should have just posted this and stopped while you're ahead

No seriously, that is some awesome shit, and it's the oldest of the bunch too. 8)
Imaginative sounds of different variety, great stereo field, morphing between different rhythms, a good vibe. I was smiling the whole time

That center placed ankle bell (or whatever that was) was kinda nausiating though, at least on headphones.

I would have much rather seen Richie Hawtin die than Joe Cocker.
