Mods, please do something

Hi mods

Of late there has been an increase in harassment and unpleasant behaviour from what is clearly a few particular forum members.

- Those volvo ads
- Unsolicited PMs from the volvo spammer
- Soundcloud password change attacks, probably emanating from the same person.

The soundcloud attacks you can't do anything about. But the other stuff is really unpleasant and unnecessary, and I assume you can do something about what happens on your forum. Certainly stuff that is unheard of on other internet forums in which I participate is becoming routine here.

It is getting so that I don't want to come on to this forum. It is unpleasant to come here and witness childish attacks on others / be attacked myself.

Can you not do more to protect us from this kind of unpleasant behaviour?

sorry, there is many nice and interesting guys here, and i dont care if your opinion is different or deviant, i dont care.

but this spam terror is terrible.

it is obviously somebody who doesnt like "eyeknow".

well eyeknow should have been banned for being a racist, but then, we would have to ban all the yankees, cause they are all racists.

I'm not sure there is all that much they can do (except moderating the forums I guess )

I mean getting an account is as easy as giving some random e-mail address and making it.

And then it's nothing but simply using the forum like anyone else would. Making threads, posts and sending PMs.

Just A LOT of them. I would assume he scripted that part, but I don't think that would be transparent to the webserver.

The only thing they could limit is the number of posts someone can make per hour or so.

Or they could link it to a licence of Live, but then I'm gone too (not that anobody would cry over that ), because it's nobodies business, who I am in real life.

I like the idea that you get one forum account per Live license. Have a lobby for the unregistered masses, and the main forum be read only to unregistered people.

Of course our resident psych patient is a license holder, but he'd at least have to content himself with pooping his pants in the lobby for kicks.
It makes me wonder if those crazy streetpeople shouting at the sky are also thinking "hur, I trolled them!" Dude, you shat your own pants, its not even slightly inconveniencing me.
When I see old threads come up, the worst I feel is nostalgia.

There certainly has been a pattern, where some poster in the Lounge mentioned a car brand and moments later the spam wave starts with this brand.
First it was John Gordon, who mention Audi a while back and then this time it was Shadx mentioning a documentary about Volvos right before it started.

So, talk about cars at your own risk

But I was just curious, what watching shows about fixing up cars had to do with being anti-american or not.
