Someone already mentioned FLAC, which is a nice surprise. What else? I'm sure there are lots of smaller things that didn't make the big announcement.

They fixed the quantise!!!!
We can now quantise starts and ends AND to a percentage. This wasn't mentioned and has pleased me greatly. Also, anyone used to midi editing in Logic, ie note and velocity preview will be pleasantly surprised
This app is fucking AMAZING, the Abes have REALLY done it this time.

hmm. stuff they didn't let us know in advance:
Mapping of the number keys to functions in Live
Midi controller min and max settings for everything
remote control of global quantize (was that there before?)
key commands for global quantize
hide labels for the routing - saves a lot of space
TempoSync in the autofilter
Notchfilter in there as well
18 different modes for the arpeggiator - that's like 14 more than most!
The brilliant nudge function on wavefiles AND midi
New assignment modes for the crossfader
the combined track number / mute buttons (they look übercoolishe)
I could go on and on...

You can now set the plug-in buffer size. I think this means we can now use the Powercore with Live without a massive CPU hit; i.e. if you increase the buffer to (for example) 1024, the CPU won't spend so much time trying to manage buffers. Could someone with a Powercore please try it out when they get a minute?
Back to the beta, it's f@#$ing unbelievable!!!

1) "Nudge" Forward and Backward in a track via MIDI trigger
2) The ability to drag a clip from Session View and have it automatically saved as a Live Clip with the same name

they made the default track width slightly wider.
doesn't seem as crammed. and even when you start reducing the widths of tracks it doesn't seem as crammed.
the thin 2 pixel line around the arranger and session window is an elegant touch.
and also i like the look of the right click menu, i was expecting some ugly OS level menu graphics, its great.

i can't get over how well the auto warping works, it gets most things right first time, not just your basic 4 to the floor either.
The complex warp mode is a real winner, not sure if it uses any more cpu but it REALLY works.
The timing is noticably tighter too.

I just realized they've changed the lfo in simpler to always be on. That alone is a major improvement for the sound. I can actually see myself making a lot of cool sounds with this. It's a brilliant all-round sample synth now!

That Ingo Köhne was in the developement team.
Ingo was a mayor Swedish boxer.
BTW: One of Live's best features ever is it's user forum.

after playing for a day, my favorite unexpected feature is that the auto-warping really works well...
