Understanding tutorial

Hey, I wondered if anyone would take a little time to help me understand this tutorial. Im incredibly new to this type of production.
I am just starting to do a bit of sampling and I want to incorporate a bit of drum and bass drums into my music ala machinedrum that kind of thing. So I thought I would just download some samples and start messing and teaching myself. I looked on the internet and saw a tut by tuts about the amen break so cool!

Probably not the best tut for me as they use fls and not ableton but I thought I would be able to make it work.
I am stuck on a little thing in the tutorial I downloaded the amen and the tut says the first 3 slices of the break are a kick, kick and snare.
Well to me it isn't it is a kick snare and some hi hats. Am i understanding it wrong? Im thinking the first 3 are the first 3 hits, is that right? To me it goes kick, kick snare in the second half of the sample. I know this is really nooby but ya gotta start somewere right.
Thanks I appreciate any help to get me started.
