I just bought an Ableton Push and I want to insert my 1/4" guitar cable into the 1/4" port in the back of the Push so I can record with it. I am using Ableton Live Intro on a Mac, and I am using the following settings under an audio track:
Driver Type: CoreAudio Audio Input Device: Built-in Input (2 in, 0 Out)
If I use Built-in microphone for the audio input device, I can hear myself through my headphones, but no sound is coming from the guitar with the settings above. Does anyone know how to connect the guitar as an audio input through Push, or if it is even possible?
How to plug guitar into Ableton Push?
Re: How to plug guitar into Ableton Push?
The Push isn't an audio interface i'm afraid you'll not be able to record through it...

If you don't have an audio interface and want to record your guitar only, this is good:

If you'll need mic/line level inputs, midi etc.. you should buy a proper sound card.

^ ditto what they both said, the 1/4 jacks are for footswitches, not audio inputs.

Do people today even read technical specs (if not manuals) before they buy?

Cperezzz has no time for manuals!
