What's cool that works on Os X?

My work (concert venue) just got a big setup with an array of screens, several projectors, 2xvideo mixers, a camera with remote, and a g5 running motion dive.

I've been messing around with it.. but I want to get some software i can throw on my powerbook, and use it as a 4th source.

Look into Livid Union 1.5, my friend and bandmates app. Tons of nice effects and fully midi controllable.

a friend of mine wrote Isadora
http://www.vjcentral.com/softwares/view/id/isadora

his webpage is a bit ugly, but the app is great though!

depends how deep you like to go I guess- it's a bit like Reaktor but not so tough as MAXMSP

personaly I like to make my own interfaces for things so it's good for me.

Quartz Composer... free w/ the Apple Developer tools. There's a learning curve, but probably less of one than with Jitter (although Jitter has great tutorials).

Definitely like Modul8 the best, but here's a link to a freebie I find myself using to make little bitz to bring into modul8. Thanks again to whomever it was that recommended it here on the forum.

and this one http://www.neuromixer.com/product-avmixer.php is looking cool for only $49.00. They had a free version out but this seems more solid.

cheers

Isadora is great ! A friend of mine is using it on my side (me use Live ), for a dance/multimedia show, and he does all kind of stuff mixing prerecorded video plus 3 micro cameras plus some text input, things triggered by the signal I send him... -We didn't go yet with midi but that would make it even more interesting in the interaction.

amo

cool :)
Mark is quite approachable about ideas for the App, he is a musician really so he really likes musicians feedback on it. He has a lot of performance artists/ installation artists and VJs using it. If you have any requests I'll actually be seeing him tonight so I'll pass any great ideas on !
