Hi guys,

I've got an 8-core AMD 8350 processor, 64 bit, 8 gigs of RAM, and a Focusrite 2i2 with the 2.5 driver. I've tried using both direct and ASIO drivers.

I've been having an issue with Live to where there's always latency when trying to record through the Focusrite. I've tweaked with audio settings to the result of crashing ever time I tried to change the settings back to default. Right now I'm at the point where I can see (on the faders) and hear the audio return, but after waiting a minute or two (or loading a plugin/effect on the audio channel) the audio just cuts off, and Ableton will crash on trying to do anything after that.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Focusrite drivers. Ableton is a clean install. Anyone got any ideas?

NOTE: Currently Going "Not Responding" when loading plugins, and trying to close Live.

NOTE: My audio is completely broken. I wiped all ASIO and Focusrite drivers from my computer, reinstalled them, and Live is still having issues. It keeps cutting off all audio, ASIO drivers simply do not work at all, direct line doesn't have a speaker option it had previously.

You have my sympathy. I've been in similar situations and I know how incredibly frustrating it is when nothing seems to work.

Give this a try. It might not solve the entire problem, but might get you headed in the right direction.

Once you have the Focusrite drivers reinstalled, check your Windows sound device settings and make sure both record and playback are set to the same sample rate and bit depth that you intend to run Ableton at. By default, Windows sets all sound devices to 44.1k/15 bit, so if this is different than the preferences in Ableton, it can cause all sorts of crashes, hang ups, audio drop outs, and chaotic behavior from any other sound-generating applications you have (like iTunes or YouTube).

And make sure you check every device listed in Windows. Leaving even one of them mismatched can cause you problems.
