I'm looking to start using Ableton to DJ and am wondering whether or not it is possible to use a Pioneer DDJ-SX as a controller in Ableton for live performances. Originally I was going to use Serato, but it seems to me, creative possibilities of Serato pale in comparison to those in Ableton. Any advice is welcome & encouraged!

DJing with Live is not like DJing with Traktor or Serato. For on the fly remixing and effects of prerecorded tracks I would go with something like Traktor, or probably Serato but I’ve never used it.
If you want to use a lot of stems from your own productions or elaborate fx chains than Live would probably be better. “Creative posiiblities” doesn’t equate to ideal for performance depending on what you are hoping to achieve. There's a lot more per track prepping with Live if you really want to remix and juggle within a singe track.

2nd that. Start simple with your mixes.
