Recordings become corrupt

I have a recurring problem with recorded clips and samples becoming corrupted. The clips play fine while the project is open but when i save, close and then repoen the project some of the samples will be greyed out and an error saying the file is invalid will appear.

I cant see any reason why particular files disappear. I might record ten different sections when working on a project before closing and sometimes none are affected, sometimes two or three.

When I look in finder the corrupted files are there but do not play in itunes or vlc. I have a retina mac 15" that is three weeks old so dont think this is a hard disk issue (have verified the disk with disk utility and seems to be ok).

I use ableton in arrangement view and record material into abelton via a komplete audio 6 soundcard. I am using live 9.1 with OSX 10.10.3

Update: If I save the file but do not close the project and check the samples in finder I see that some of them do not play. However they still work in Ableton

Drive errors checked? Use "Manage files" to investigate files.

Thanks - yes 'manage files' helped - I am using a Hubic, a similar service to Dropbox, as cloud backup and it had created a duplicate 'conflict' version of some of the files and somehow made the original aif unreadable.

I am going to pause syncing for Hubic while working in Ableton and see if this solves the problem. I guess this is also why it did it at random - only when I was recording Hubic happened to be syncing.

OK, great. I find that splice works really well for both backups and sharing. Unlimited storage AFAIK.
