Now with inversions and other stuff but a bass device has been added which links to the chord progressions. Looking forward to trying it.

J74 still doesn't base chords on your timing?

No it's all set via the interface, good for generative stuff or building of existing progressions. Cthulhu is better for playing in your own chord progressions.

Thanks. I'm using the free
XenoChordExplorer and it's using my notes when I want to try a few chord progressions without having a keyboard or just on the fly.

I still need to wrap my head around it a bit, there are a bunch of different progressions that i don't really know unless the dev named them but it's powerful.
The analyzer's really good if you want to know the key of the track, thought it could be good for harmonic mixing and of course you can pull chord progressions from other tracks.

Hi!
I have both Progressive and Bassline and I think they are both really useful tools that can do much more than "just" generate quite complex clips in linked-mode.
Bassline, for example, can also be used without Progressive (linked to a "chord-detect"-device on another track) and play along to any progression you throw at it.
By switching the octave, it can also be used for lead-melodies.
Same with Progressive. The "Clip Analyser" or even better the "Clip Modifier" can analyse/humanize/randomize every Midi-Clip in many possible ways.
For me, these tools (plus Harmo Tools and Morph-Tools) are so essential that I think we should ask Ableton to team up with J74 and make these devices Live10 Stock-Plugins.
Of course, there are other plugins that do a similar job, but I found Progressive to be unique in some ways. The way it handles chord-inversions, for example. Just a different approach that leads to different results, always good to have something like that in your toolbox.
For real-time-playing, I think the free CodeFN42-Plugins like "Chordz" are great (32- and 64-bit, WIN only)

Yeah i had my eye the J74 stuff recently, picked up parameter lock tonight which is very nice. Will take a closer look at the other stuff. I use Cthulhu for basslines sometimes but i usually play stuff in but i'm finding J74 really good for developing ideas.
