Workarounds to Ableton's pitch bend reset problem not workin

Post by alexfsu » Mon Jun 22, 2015 2:18 am

I've tried a dummy clip before the MIDI clip, tried drawing a tiny dot on 0 right before the MIDI begins in the clip, even tried someone's M4L device. Nothing resets the pitch bend properly, it always is off when I automate the pitch in a prior clip, I have to move the pitch bend manually in the software to reset it. What can I do here? Thanks.

Midi CCs are only sent when there is a change detected. So just putting one zero in a clip probably won't do anything. So you need to put something a little more complex. Try putting at the start of the clip a new point at zero, then 1/64 later put another at just over zero, even 1 might work. Then put yet another point 1/64 after that one, this time at zero. The software should detect the change from zero to 1 to zero again and send the zero CC command.
