The nine point two thread

Since there does not appear to be a general Live 9.2 Public Beta thread yet

My first impression is: wow. 64 pad drum rack mode rocks.

Live seems to load much more quickly too....

I am downloading it right now...

Could you tell me if a project saved with 9.2 can be opened with 9.1.8 ?
Is it backward compatibile?

Probably but that would mean that a 9.1.8 project can be opened in 9.2, wouldn't it?

First issue I've noticed:

Updating to max 7, which is supposed to be included, doesn't seem to work:

Updated Live 9 x64 Win 7 to 9.2.

Downloaded the latest version of Max (7.03) from the Ableton Website.

Installed Max 7

Rebooted

Loaded Live. Dropped a blank M4L onto a track.

Max 6 loads.

WTF?

In Live you have to go to Options FILE FOLDER Max Application and browse to where Max 7 is installed

I opened my e-mail this morning and saw, LIVE 9.2 Official Release!!!!! So I guess I'm going to have a good day!!!! Can't wait to try the 64 pad drum racks. I've been using my Maschine Studio a lot more than Live lately but I've also noticed that i'm finishing a lot less stuff w/ it. Back to Live it is/

I get this message when I go to install (on mac):

"A newer item named “Ableton Live 9 Suite” already exists in this location. Do you want to replace it with the older one you’re moving?"

Do I say yes?? Don't want to mess up any existing projects!

Yeah, I've been ignoring 64-pad mode all this time - because I never even use 16 pads. But now, after fooling around with Mad Zach's 64-padlab, I realise I've been quite uninventive. It's a lot of fun jamming like this, layering up dubby-soundscapes.

I'm gonna expand my own racks now in the same spirit, but I prefer to make my own sounds. Bazille and Zebra sampling, here I come.

Nine point two
Scooby Doo
Boobitty boobitty boobitty boo

It's already got me writing songs!

Mostly curious about Max for Live 7. Don't have Push, and the other things don't really stand out to me.

did you install the Beta? I'm wondering if that's why.

Either way, I'd say yes and replace it.

made a post for it but...

M4Live 7 requests an old Java SE 6 install.. which 6.1 never asked me for (and is running fine without it.. or voodo magic)

it's crashing Live 9.2 on startup coz I got a ton of devices in my start-up rack.

Right now trying to get as far as possible in Live to change the Max app pref back to 6.1
crossing my finger to be able to change it before it crashes again

great times... (x_x);

I'm glad they fixed the zoom issue :D That was driving me nuts since I sit a little farther away from my computer monitors.
