play one track , and stop another
so this may sound as if a scene launch is what im looking for, but its not ; bear with me.
In session view :
How can I STOP any clip currently playing track # 1 by launching a clip in track # 2.
AND visa versa.
The idea here is to simplify a DJ set.
Instead of having 12 drum beat clips all in one column, have 6 beats on track #1 and 6 beats on track # 2.
So if a clip in track #1 is playing, and I launch a clip on track # 2, the track #1 clip stops playing.
That way I could see all 12 clips on my Push, without having to scroll up and down; and I only need to
hit one button. ( as opposed to hitting the clip on each track )
man I hope that makes sense to someone.
Thanks
Brian

The only way I can think of would be to put them on different scenes and launch the scene instead of the clip.

Easily done in max 4 live if needed.
MacBook Pro 13" Retina i7 2.8 GHz OS 10.13, L10.0.1, M4L.
MacStudio M1Max 32Go OS 12.3.1

could you set the clips' launch mode to toggle and press both clips at the same time?

Bad grammar drives me nuts.
In English, no one has perfect grammar. It can be quite easy to stump an English professor.
My usage here , though, is correct.
From Websters:
bear. verb \?ber\. : to accept or endure

yea this was one of my first solutions. Not ideal, but a last resort.oddstep wrote:could you set the clips' launch mode to toggle and press both clips at the same time?
The end goal would to only press a single button.

There must be someone out there who has had the same idea as me.
I would consider myself an intermediate/advanced live user. Max, however, is over my head.
Do you have any ideas on which particular max device would get me there?
I need the solution to work like a midi script; as opposed to exhaustively setting manual mappings.

I've got a pair of devices, a master and slave.... PM me your email address and i'll send you a dropbox link...
You set how many clips you'll want playing at once in the master and then drop a slave on every other track...
Cheers
