Does anyone have any tips or tricks for warping acapella vocal tracks? Whenever I've tried ableton always guesses the tempo wrong, and I don't want to have to place individual warp markers for the whole song...

I would start by placing a few warp markers where you know where the first beat of the measure is on the clip then stretching that to the first beat of a measure in the time line.
Then turn on the click to hear if it sounds right.
If you make the clip the tempo master you'll have a better idea if you placed the warp markers in the right place

(1) Put the clip on an audio track in arrangement mode. Make sure it is not warped.
(2) Duplicate it. You now have two identical clips, one above the other.
(3) warp the second clip.
(4) Then change the Seg. BPM in the second clip. You will see it lengthen/shorten. Adjust till your eyeballs tell you it's aligned.

Hey that's really clever and it makes sense, though would that work if the acapella was not recorded to a click?

It's basically just a way of making sure that the warped version is exactly the same length as the non-warped. I don't think recording to a click would make any difference.
