there are lots of DIY designs out there. apart from saving money, you can customise them to exactly the right height, etc.
myself, i like the sand-filled PVC tube design. some people hold it all together with threaded rods, i prefer to use the PVC flanges instead...

I just glued 2 & half cinder blocks together and put my monitors on them. Super solid and cost about $20.
