Auto-Save, Undo.cfg backups/not deleting Undo.cfg on save

Seeing as how one can manually add in the old undo.cfg to sometimes help fix a corrupted file, can this be implemented to happen AFTER WE SAVE?!?!? so we have our precious undo history?
I just had a session where everything was cleared while saving due to command x being hit accidentally/at the same time while hitting command S, thus cutting a nice full chunk out of my session and leaving me unable to undo it. Yes, I have backups of the session, but none that were recent/included the part that was erased.
Seriously every other DAW has this feature, where with ableton once you save you are screwed on Undos.
I know this has been posted many times, but seriously, this is a Major feature of every other DAW that ableton hasn't included!

I concur that the action history should remain as long as the project is open at least.

Having session specific undo.cfgs saved along with the session seems to make the most sense, maybe include it in a subfolder by default.
