Push - Dedicated mute, solo, and stop clip buttons

Please add dedicated mute, solo, and stop controls for each track like the apc40! Since push 2 doesnt have this can you at least add some sort of visual indication that a track is muted or soloed that is always visible and doesn't require clicking the mute or solo button to check? I find on push I end up just using mute and have to live without solo and stop bc its way too confusing and time consuming to switch. It's easier to solo with the mouse and screen then which defeats the purpose of push. I love push but unfortunately have to switch back to an apc40 bc of this one issue which really sucks. Why didn't push learn from the apc40s success and keep the features that made it so useful? How could something as vital as mute require menu diving to get to/check???

I hadn't noticed that. So on Push 2, the process is :
Mute — Mutes the currently selected track. Hold Mute while pressing another track’s lower display button to mute that track. Hold Mute while pressing a Drum Rack pad to mute the pad. Hold Mute while pressing a step sequencer step to deactivate the step. Hold Mute while pressing a device’s upper display button to deactivate the device.

Solo — Solos the currently selected track. Hold Solo while pressing another track’s lower display button to solo that track. Hold Solo while pressing a Drum Rack pad to solo the pad.

Stop Clip — Stops the playing clip in the currently selected track. Hold Stop Clip and press any track’s lower display button to stop the playing clip in that track. While Stop Clip is held down, the lower display buttons will pulse for any tracks that contain currently playing clips. Hold Shift and press Stop Clip to stop all clips.
vs Push Mk1:
When working with tracks, the top [error in manual, says leftmost] eight buttons will either stop clips or mute or solo the corresponding track, depending on which of the three rightmost buttons is pressed (Stop, Mute, or Solo). When working with devices instead of tracks, the [top] eight buttons will toggle devices on and off. These buttons have additional functionality in other modes (scale selection, etc.)

Hey James, ya I've had the push 2 for a day now and what you reported is correct. Now it is even worse than the push 1 in that it takes 2 hands to mute/solo/stop a track! I don't know if my workflow is different than the rest of the universe but those are the 3 most common buttons I use so I'm a little dumbfounded that they prioritized them so low. At least visually a track is grayed out now if its muted unlike the push 1 so that helps a lot. Unfortunately I still find it easier to use my mouse to solo and mute tracks as it only requires one hand and one click vs. on the push having to press two buttons at once. I hope they give the option of switching back to the push 1 method at least in an update.

Ableton, How could you have overlooked the importance of dedicated mute? two hands to mute or even just check mute?? FAIL

I miss dedicated mutes and solos, too. Please Ableton, give us a preference or so to work that way if we want to.

Thanks for the heads up. I also initiated a feature request on their developer's monitored platform. Please support our wish by upvoting it so that it gains visibility to the team:
