Recording audio from external instrument

Hi,
I'm recording an external instrument into live for just 2 bars then looping it with some midi drums in live. As the 2 bar tracks in time there's no need to quantize, so all I'm doing is putting one warp marker on the 1st note and start here 1.1.1 etc as the 1st note is the 1st beat aswell, and correcting the seg bpm if it needs it. The loop sounds OK but the tempo in it seems to fluxuate slightly IE some bits are spot on and other bit slightly off, surely if some of it is on time the whole loop should be. Please can someone give me any tips or tell me where I'm going wrong cheers!!
