Default CC assignments for Analog

I've noticed that Live seems to have some sort of default MIDI configuration for most of it's built in plugins, and you can see this in action when the little blue hand is showing up in the title bar of a plugin. Does anyone know where I can find more information about how default mappings work in live or device control works. It would seem like whatever device is selected can get some automatic MIDI mappings without having to configure, so there must be something behind the scenes doing this.
