How to Play CC data from Live Drum Rack to an external synth

Hi I'm new to Live and Push 2, but 25 years working with MIDI. I'm sure this is easy, but I can't figure it out.

Over the past 15 years I've made loads of Nord G2 patches which can be interacted with via MIDI CC. Mostly set up like an drum machines and sequencers, parameters are activated by momentary CC messages. In the past I've used various MIDI controllers to send CC data to the Nord G2 via Logic Pro. In some cases I've even used Logic's environment page to set up a transformer to convert notes to CC.

But I can't find anything like this with the Push 2 / Live 9.5 set up I'm using now. It should be straight forward - I simply want to play MIDI CC from a drum rack instead of MIDI notes.

Can anyone explain how to do this?

Thanks

There's not way to do this natively with Live, it doesn't have anything even close to Logic's Environment on it's own. I'm sure you could do something with M4L, but not too sure how easy that would be to do myself.

You use the 'external instrument' device in drum racks?

You'll maybe want to use just a single slot, and set it to 'receive all notes'.

For the cc part, well, if you do the above you'll at least have simplified the problem, plus it will send all midi received by the external instrument device to the hardware. So you use something which can convert and/or generate cc's based on your needs.

I cannot tell if you're looking to send cc's only, or cc dependant on note input? Maybe elaborate a little more.

Thanks for the info guys.

I was able to transform note to cc using a trial version of this software: https://www.bome.com/products/miditranslator

I wasn't able to test Max For Live because I had previously already done a trial of Live Suite. I probably will buy Max at some stage and this module would probably do the job: http://www.musicalgeometry.com/?p=1692

At the moment the Nord G2 is the language I understand for creating unique instruments and its not difficult for me to transform note to cc inside the G2, so I'll just do it like that until I have enough time to learn Max.

Cheers
